Robyn
The Robyn is a sculptural Western hat inspired by the raw beauty of clay and the imperfect, hands-on process of creating pottery. Finished in a warm Buckskin tone, the hat is intentionally distressed and treated throughout, creating layers of depth, texture, and character that make each piece feel naturally worn and entirely its own.
A 4.5-inch slanted teardrop crown gives The Robyn its distinctive silhouette, paired with a wide 4.5-inch Western brim that lifts dramatically at the sides. The shape feels bold and unmistakably Western while maintaining an organic, handcrafted quality.
Around the base of the crown, contrasting textures are layered together to reinforce its rustic character: a tattered chocolate bandana, frayed cream silk ribbon, natural jute twine, and a wide brown leather lace wrap. A white-and-brown feather is tucked between the layers as the finishing detail.
Like clay marked by the hands that shaped it, the irregularities, distressing, and variations throughout The Robyn are intentional. No two will look exactly alike.

The X system is a traditional method used within hatmaking to distinguish grades of fur felt. Because there is no universal X standard across manufacturers, X ratings should be understood within each maker’s collection. Within the Justin Great collection, higher X ratings represent progressively more premium felt, offering greater refinement, durability, performance, and luxury.

HOW DO I ADJUST MY HAT SIZE?
Adjustable Inner Band Instructions
Flip up the sweatband to find the velcro tab + pull to tighten. Velcro the ribbon back in place to secure your desired fit. The adjustable band can adjust the hat down by up to 5 cm.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
How would you like to wear your flat brim hat?
Traditional:
This is the “traditional” style of wearing a hat.
1. Place your cloth measuring tape around your head over your occipital bone (the furthest part on the back of your head).
2. Bring the measure around to the front of your head. About 5 mm above your ears and position it in the center of your forehead, or just above the eyebrows (depending on where you want your hat to sit). Make sure the tape is sitting comfortably, this is how the hat will sit on your head.
Halo:
1. Place your cloth measuring tape around your head over your occipital bone (the furthest part on the back of your head).
2. Bring the tape measure around to the front of your head. About 5 mm above your ears and position it at the top of your forehead (beginning of hairline). Make sure the tape is sitting comfortably, this is how the hat will sit on your head.
Traditional vs. Halo
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Spot clean with a damp cloth.
- Brush lightly with lint brush or double-sided tape.
- Use a lint roller or double-sided tape to remove any excess dirt.
- For a softer hat, steam for 30 - 60 seconds. For further information on steaming, see below.
STEAMING INSTRUCTIONS
- Use steam from a apparel steamer, boiling pot of water, or iron (use caution).
- Please do not apply the actual iron to the hat - the steam will be enough to soften the hat so you can mould the brim flat.
- Steam the underside of the brim, flip it, lightly steam the top of the brim and then lay it on a clean, flat surface. Use your hands to push down on the brim and shape the hat to your desired shape. If you want to flatten the brim, press down on the brim or lay heavy flat books that will not transfer color on each side of the brim and let dry on a flat surface.
- All of our wool hats have a stiffening agent applied, to ensure that they maintain their shape. Steaming often reactivates this stiffening agent over time and can breathe new life into your hat.
HOW DO I STORE MY HAT?
- We recommend storing your hat in our hat boxes. This will keep your hat clean and preserve its shape. Store on a flat surface, or hang your hat on a nail/push pin on the wall for a decor forward storage method.
TIPS
- Please avoid prolonged periods of sun exposure to your hat to avoid colour fade and brim damage.
- Please do not get your hat wet. If it does get wet, we recommend towel drying immediately to remove any moisture or leaving in the sunshine to dry. Next follow the steam guide to reshape.
- It is natural to sweat in your hat. Hand washing the inner band is best to ensure your hat isn't submerged in water. Use a brush with minimal detergent to clean and allow to dry in an area with air flow or a fan. Use steam method if your hat mishaps during this process.
